Chemical regeneration, or chemical washing, is necessary to restore the productivity and degree of water purification of contaminated reverse osmosis membranes. During the operation of reverse osmosis systems, insoluble deposits of mineral (hardness salts), organic (humic compounds) and microbiological (biological film) nature are formed on the membranes, which reduces their efficiency.

 

The complete set of the chemical regeneration station includes the following components:

  • Polymer tank for washing solution with a volume of 100 liters
  • Pump Grundfos CM3-4 with a capacity of 0.5 kW with a voltage of 230 V
  • Mechanical filter BB20 with a polypropylene cartridge for cleaning from mechanical impurities
  • Electric panel for process control
  • Manometer and thermomanometer for pressure and temperature control
  • PVC pipelines and fittings for reliable connection and circulation of the solution
  • Powder-coated steel frame for durability and corrosion resistance

 

The mechanism of operation of the dry cleaner begins with the stop of the reverse osmosis system. After that, it is necessary to connect the supply and return nozzles of the washing solution of the CIPSEP4 station to the nozzles of the membrane body (outlet water, permeate and concentrate). The tank for the washing solution is filled with water, the necessary amount of washing reagent is added (according to the instructions) and the solution is thoroughly mixed by circulating the pump. The finished washing solution is circulated through the membrane apparatus, and during this process the pH, temperature and color of the solution must be carefully monitored.

 

 

Dry cleaning is usually performed in two stages: first, an alkaline solution is used, and then an acid solution. It helps to effectively remove various types of dirt.
